Back to being a five-piece again

A good friend of The Everglades, Lasse has been playing with us for some time now and he's become more and more involved with the band, eventually being the fifth Everglades (or sixth, or seventh? Who counts?). So as The Everglades are about to hit the studio to record some new material, the band felt it was an appropriate time to officially take Lasse on board full-time.

Lasse has done some amazing work for the band, not only playing guitar on the live set but also composing songs for the band and contributing to the arrangements of the new songs - not to mention that he's a really funny fucker and deifinitely knows his way with the ladies... Be sure to check out Lasse's band Common Tones and his solo project Klasu - both can be found on MySpace, both equally fantastic!

Past: I'm In Love, What's That Sound?

The Everglades also visited Bar Loose last week. The gig went fine and we surely enjoyed playing in there! So thank you for the audience, other bands and organizers!

Summer news and rolling stones

Ok, it's been a while since last time. We are, however, happy to announce that our new record is finally ready and waiting for you! Furthermore, we are deeply satisfied on the result and, thus, we would like to thank our producer-engineer Jaakko Rajamäki for all the help and spiritual guidance. You can judge the result of the songs You Can Be My Radio and Stranger yourself in our myspace.

We also made it through the fifth legandary Kuusistock. The festival was this time perhaps better than ever, despite a few moments of danger caused by rolling stones. Luckily no one got hurt and we are planning to set up a memorial statue to remind all the future generations.

The Everglades has also some new confirmed gig dates and there are still more to come. We will for example hit the big stage in Airofestarit at Caribia 994. There is also one gig already in August in our spiritual home S-Osis.

Club Fock 'til You Pop vol. 4

The silence is now spread again around the town. The fourth FYP club fulfilled all our expectations by all means. There were three amazing bands visiting and thus we would first of all like to thank Agent Kooper, Bridget and We Are Waiting! The wheel of fortune was also spinning during the evening, we do sincerely hope that you all got a possibility to participate, as it was most likely a once in a lifetime chance. We would also like to show our appreciation to all who visited - hopefully you had as much fun as we did!

Club Fock 'til You Pop will be back, that's for sure. When this is going to happen is still a mystery. We promise anyway that there will again be something special. Be aware! And until that, IT'S OK TO POP AND PARTY!

Intensively in studio

Christmas is over and The Everglades are happy to tell you that we are back in studio once again. Our aim is to record two songs which will later on be a part of the forthcoming ep. The whole ep will propably be released later in the spring, but the first single, including You Can Be My Radio and Stranger, is hopefully available already in January or February. Honestly speaking, working in studio has this time been very easy and the feeling is great! Thus, we are anxious to get these songs ready for you to love or judge them.

Expect to hear more of this shortly, within weeks. We wish you all the best and hope you had a great New Year! Hopefully it was a matter of popping and partying all night long. We are also going to play live in Turku 23.01.08 at Klubi with two great bands, namely The Friend and Common Tones. Be there and testify the rise and glory of fockpop!

Fock 'til You Pop vol. 3 in memoriam

The famous Fock 'til You Pop -club was once again a success! We would like to thank all those over 150 dirty fockers who were there and made the evening sweaty and perfect. Special thanks goes of course to all the bands: Daisy, ultrasport and Starflower - thank you! To be honest, we did even earn six euros with the entrance fees, so you can expect something special with all that money next time. You can also check some photos that Jussi Leppävirta did shoot during the evening.

This is not the end, this is merely a beginning. There will be new possibilities for you to get down and dirty once again. Be aware and still we will strike when you least expect it.

Fock 'til You Pop vol. 3 - 14.9.07
What is Fock 'til You Pop?

...asked a beautiful young girl once from her almost as beautiful friend. Her friend put on her face the most mysterious smile and said: "Imagine a arty with masses of young people dancing to the most interesting Finnish pop bands giving their best on the stage, cheap beer, sweat, an entrance to all this with only 3€ and you're getting close. I heard that this time promoters have succeeded to get Daisy and The Everglades presenting F'YP's hometown, Turku. They'll host two melodic visitors in form of ultrasport nd Starflower."

"Are you going to go there?" asked the beautiful young girl. "Well, what do you think? Hell no! I'll never anything to do with those disgusting fockers!"

On the behalf of organizers we sincerely hope that you will make a btter decision. See you there.

Anthony Tomson has left the building!
The Everglades are deeply sorry to infrom that lead singer of the band, Anthony Tomson, has left the band. Anthony's and the band's ways parted in good terms, although everybody is naturally saddened by this this decision. The Everglades have no intentions to find a replacement for Anthony. Alex Tomson will step in as the new lead singer. The first chance to see the "new line-up" is club Fock 'til You Pop on 14th of September at S-Osis, Turku, Finland.

14.3.07
Fock 'til You Pop - New Date!
Club Fock 'til You Pop will be postponed. The new date is Wednesday 11th of April. The reason for this is that our good friends, Common Tones made it to Alkupiste Festival on 23rd of March at Sein?joki, Finland. They got picked from more than 450 demos to compete for a slot at Provinssirock festival next summer – the second best festival in Finland after Ruisrock. Well done, boys!

Obviously it is a great opportunity for them as radio station YleX and some major record companies are present and quite frankly we couldn't be more happy for them! Unfortunately this means that Club Fock 'til You Pop has to find a new date but things went really well and we can arrange it on 11th of April as it was.

So, the line-up for the best club event of this year is:

Common Tones

The Everglades

Traffic Island

The Rollstons

Fock 'til You Pop vol. 2
For more than six months they had to stay clean but now the long wait is about to end. Friday March 23rd is the time for the rock oriented youth to get again down and dirty with the hottest pop bands of our era!

After the highly successful opening last August, Club Fock ’til You Pop is back providing once more an unforgettable party night with four fabulous live acts. Three of the bands are originally from the grey industrial city of Turku, Finland. Traffic Island, The Everglades and Common Tones present the new powerful generation of young poppish rock bands from this former capital of Finland. The Rollstons will bring they’re beautiful melodies with them straight from Jyv?skyl?, the city of Matti Nyk?nen.

Fock ’til You Pop -crew will also spoil the indie kids with the great F’YP dj’s Chew & Bacca. ”The schedules of this well-known and appreciated duo were more than hectic but after all we managed to reach an agreement. We will have to fly Mr. Chew straight from the UK, though”, discloses Mr. Larry Fore, the head promoter of F’YP.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time again to pop and party.

Fock-pop feast!
The Everglades will be playing at S-Osis in Turku, one of the favourite venues of the band, on Thursday 7th of December. The night will be a real treat for everyone who is a fan of good pop-rock music as The Everglades is joined by the amazing Common Tones. This will be definitely a night to remember!

As we have lost track on Larry Fore’s adventures in Eastern Europe, Lasse Toimi of Common Tones will once again join The Everglades on stage. It is believed that Larry Fore has found himself a former soviet mule farm in the countryside in Czech Republic where he is brewing beer, milking mules and taking good care of his voluptuous wife Kvetoslava. News from Czech Republic tells us that after The Everglades’ UK gigs Larry Fore traded his Fender Stratocaster for a Zetor-tractor and his beard has now officially grown below his waste.

Meanwhile, please do check out the new demo of The Everglades and also pay a visit to Common Tones. Remember wherefrom you heard the name for the first time…

Airplay for The Everglades
Pulse Radio has kindly played the new demo of The Everglades in their shows ‘The A List’ and ‘The Sessions’. To make sure it will be on the shows also in the future, please go and vote for The Everglades at the Pulse Radio website. You can also send feedback or comments to the dj’s.

Have your say – vote for The Everglades!
